I go by SMVgrey. To clarify, I am a female. I do realize my name does not quite establish my gender. I am also an adult, not a teenager, as my converse sneakers might mislead. The key to life is a good pair of chucks.

I really appreciate the comments, watches and faves and especially making new friends.

Hey, smv,

I'm not even a member here but I just have to say, bravo! I will be now. I found one of your copyrighted images going around on facebook, which drew me here, to you. I am an author of an adult fantasy series and appreciate your stunning talents. Keep up the great work!

Beautiful, inspires me to put some of my own photography up as stock to see what others can do with it.

I started offering stock as means to return the favour when I was studying graphic design back in 2005. Teachers were pretty strict about using copyrighted material, so I had to rely on stock artists for many of my school projects... then in the process I wanted to build my own bank of images and share them with others, so much so that later on I developed a much greater appreciation for photography than graphic design, and I'm still happy to share much of my photography as stock.

Nevertheless, I have to say it has come at a cost. Every now and then I find out that someone outright rips my stock off and tries to sell the resulting "artwork" for lack of a better word. Mind you, I don't spend much time researching who could have possibly ripped my work off, so I can only imagine how many of images are out there floating "illegally".

Of course, this is not something I would readily admit anywhere, but since I am just commenting on your page, I might as well say it... that I kind of have to acknowledge that some of my stock is being used in unacceptable ways beyond my control. Just saying this as a caution if you really want to offer some of your own photography as stock.

Bright side is, people tend to be a lot more respectful of stock resources on deviantArt than most other stock sites, so I would say of all places, this would be a good place to start. Here most deviants are more interested in using stock in their own deviations, and I can tell because of how differently my images are faved between dA and sxc.hu (sxc being more business oriented).

On sxc, 2 of my most popular images are [link] (rolled up newspaper) and [link] (cloudy sky) . As we speak, each has around 20,000 downloads on sxc. The same images on dA have no more 200 downloads, yet there are some images I have on dA that far surpass my download rate on sxc, because in general the stock I post here is used for more "fictional" work, like fantasy photomanipulations. And in most cases people who use stock for photomanipulations on dA go out of their way to credit every single stock provider and that's what I like about this community.
